The calf pack is designed to optimise the health of young ruminants.

The first item the calf pack contains is a probiotic as animals are born without a microbiome in the gut which leaves them prone to pathogens. A probiotic inoculates the gut with beneficial microbes which help the animal to remain well as when pathogens enter the gut they work by competitive exclusion to out-compete the incoming pathogens. 
In calves this is fed at 3-3.5mls per day
In kids this is fed at 2ml per day

The second ingredient in the calf pack is a pre-biotic fiber that is designed to enhance rumen development. This is a refined plant fiber for inclusion in milk or milk replacer. It promotes and feeds the gut flora (provided by the pro-biotic), this in turn reduces the incidence of nutritional scours, improves fecal quality and keeps the young animal content for longer. The fiber content stimulates the intake of solid feed (earlier and increased), improving the growth and development of the intestinal lining, the fiber is important as an absorbent, and produces a drier litter with a knock on effect in environmental conditions.

It is easiest to incorporate into the milk when the dosage is split between two feeds per day.  Once meal is introduced, sprinkling the powder over the meal is much quicker and simpler. 
In calves this is fed at 25 grams per day (12.5 grams per feed)
In kids it is fed at 6 grams per day (3 grams per feed)

The calf pack can be purchased a complete unit or as parts as required.
The quantities in the calf pack are as follows:
10L probiotic, sufficient for 3,300 does calves 5,000 doses for kids
Pre-biotic fiber per 25kg bag 2,000 doses per bag for calves and 8,333 for kids. Once solids are added to the diet - it is easier to spread the fiber over solid feed.
